I'll overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be shown live on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to build hype for next month's boxing match.
Ex twice world boxing king Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge disparity - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
Boxer's Attitude
"I'm going to break his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of such comments, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally known for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul instead targeted former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.
"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he stated.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.
He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.
Financial Success
Still, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, frequently receiving substantial financial rewards.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.
"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.
Size Difference
As both boxers met for the traditional confrontation, with their height and weight contrast on show, it emphasized just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is truly proceeding.
